Blooming Therapy

Therapy sessions at your home, for women who require support, empowerment and personalized attention – much like a flower that requires sun, water, and care.

Designed for women in late adulthood with complex medical needs.

If you’re feeling stuck, worried, or concerned, with or without a partner by your side, you’re not alone.

Just as petals unfold to reveal the beauty within, together we will uncover your inner gifts, explore new paths, and fully embrace this chapter in your life. We will work together to ensure that you are able to define your life’s direction with confidence and purpose.

Core Approach

  • Mindfulness: I emphasize the importance of present-moment awareness, and promote an attitude of openness, curiosity, and acceptance towards your experiences, without judgment. Mindfulness practices can help you find inner peace by responding more confidently to stress, uncertainty and change.
  • Creative Expression: Let’s promote brain health through art-making, crafts, music, writing, dance, “easy art” (coloring, doodling), or cooking – whatever sparks your creativity.
  • Storytelling: Telling your story provides an opportunity for connection and support. I provide a trusting, warm, and compassionate environment for you to share your thoughts, and am honored to listen to your journey and experiences.
  • New Experiences: Let’s try new things together, and invite meaning, purpose, and spice into your life.

Blooming Therapy focus areas:

  • Chronic pain management
  • Healing from loneliness
  • Substance abuse support
  • Cancer or chronic illness management
  • Body image concerns
  • Medical system trauma
  • Grief and Loss
  • Spiritual discussion and reflection

Theoretical Orientation/Approaches

  • Integrative therapy: I blend traditional therapies with creative expression, mindfulness, new experiences, storytelling, and other complimentary holistic wellness practices.
  • Humanistic/Rogerian therapy: An approach to therapy that emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and a genuine therapeutic relationship.
  • Multisensory Reminiscence Therapy: A specific type of storytelling that fosters a sense of connection to one’s personal history and identity. MRT promotes cognitive functioning, reduces feelings of isolation, and can enhance overall quality of life. Can be utilized outdoors or in vivo.
  • Women-centered Therapy: An empowerment approach that can help you navigate societal expectations, challenge ageist stereotypes, assert your needs, and cultivate self-compassion.

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do.” — Brené Brown
