Common Questions

Is therapy really for me? I’ve always handled things on my own.

Yes! Therapy is for everyone!

I can’t afford your rates – do you offer a sliding scale or scholarships?

If you are ready for my services, and the cost would not be a wise financial decision for you, please reach out to me. In most cases, I can agree to an amount that feels more comfortable for you. If not, I can research other providers for you.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently in network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, and Cigna. If you would like to access your out of network benefits, I have partnered with Mentaya to help reduce stress around submitting superbills/invoices. This is an optional service.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept debit, credit card, ACH transfer, Zelle, and Cash App. For in home sessions, I also accept cash or check.

What is your no-show policy? Are there any cancellation fees?

I only charge 20 dollars for cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows, but commitment and consistency with meeting is necessary on both ends to ensure a positive result.

What types of mental health conditions can you treat?

I am qualified to treat a range of conditions, including mood, anxiety, and personality disorders. Please reach out to me for a free consultation, and we can explore your treatment options.

What is your talk therapy style?

My therapy style is client-centered, focusing on your goals and preferences. I integrate Buddhist psychology, creative expression, AI, and mental health apps to foster personal growth and improved mental health.

How confidential is therapy?

Your participation in Blooming Therapy Co. services is strictly between us, with rare exceptions. If I suspect elder or child abuse, or am concerned that you are at imminent and immediate risk of intentionally hurting yourself or someone else, I am legally required to break confidentiality to seek protective assistance. If you are using health insurance, your medical record may be reviewed by your insurance company.

I’ve never heard of in-home therapy. What are the benefits?

In-home therapy provides convenience, a feeling of comfort and familiarity, insight for me into your environment, and more personalized care. Some negatives may be distractions (noise in the home), a lack of privacy, or more challenges maintaining professional boundaries. Overall, I have found that my clients enjoy the convenience and personalized attention that comes from in-home visits.

Can you see my son for therapy, if you are providing therapy to my daughter?

My services are tailored to women and girls, but there is always room for exceptions.

Why do you only work with women?

My hope is that any woman or girl who comes to me for mental health support will feel seen, understood, and supported knowing that my services are designed and tailored specifically for them.
