Sparkle & Play Therapy

Child-centered Play therapy and bibliotherapy at home or at our Palm Springs office

For girls ages 4-12, who are ready to shine.

Sparkle and Play Therapy sessions can improve your child’s ability to recognize, understand, and manage or control her emotions. Therapy can also help her to navigate relationships with grace, kindness and self-awareness.

Sessions are designed to help your child discover her inner sparkle and let it shine through a variety of therapeutic experiences.

Core Approach

  • Mindfulness: I teach and help your child practice mindfulness techniques, which can assist her with managing overwhelming emotions, can improve her concentration and attention-span, and can help her find inner peace and calm during times of stress.
  • Creative Expression: I provide your child individualized attention utilizing art, music, dance or other activities. Creative activities can help your child explore her identity and beliefs, fostering self-awareness and self-acceptance. Accomplishing creative tasks and projects can boost your child’s self-confidence, helping her to feel more capable and empowered.
  • Storytelling: I encourage your child to tell her story through words or play. This can help to promote insight, self-reflection, emotional processing, and personal growth. I also utilize bibliotherapy, which involves reading for a therapeutic purpose. I may ask your child to examine characters in stories, explore themes, and find parallels in her own life, to help with her social and emotional development.
  • New Experiences: I bring new activities to sessions with a therapeutic purpose. Facing new uncertainties can help girls develop resilience, adaptability, and coping skills, preparing them to navigate future obstacles with confidence and resourcefulness. I also process new experiences in your child’s life, to support her with any challenges and celebrate her successes.
